the Project
After getting into long distance endurance sports, first with triathlon, then ultra running, I've come to meet a whole new community in Central Wisconsin. A group of people that spiral off into their own preferred sports, yet intermingle, both competitively and cooperatively to continue encouraging each other and the larger community as a whole. They push themselves into uncomfortable new experiences, far exceeding what any individual may have initially thought possible.

This project is a feature length documentary about exploring why and how that happens, especially here, in a relatively underpopulated midwestern clump of towns. The more people I continued to meet, the more I learned of the absolutely incredible feats accomplished by those right here, in the town I've lived my entire life and come to love more and more over the years.
Discover the untold stories of extraordinary endurance athletes in Central Wisconsin as they push the boundaries of human performance in a multitude of silent sports. This captivating documentary will delve into the lives of these individuals who have forged a vibrant community based on shared motivations, unwavering dedication, and relentless hard work. Against the backdrop of the region's awe-inspiring natural features, from meandering rivers and serene lakes to the majestic Rib Mountain, witness the indomitable spirit and inspiring achievements of these athletes who find their strength in both the pursuit of physical accomplishment in the unyielding beauty of their surroundings. Prepare to be captivated as we uncover the remarkable journeys of these endurance athletes and the community they have built in Central Wisconsin.
Who's Putting This Together?
My name is Rob Hoehn
The past 5 years have been a journey into endurance sport for me, completing 3 Ironman distance races, a 24 hour triathlon, Ultraman Florida, multiple ultra trail runs and finishing my first 100 mile run at Marji Gesick in Sept 2023.
The past few years I've ran a YouTube channel trying to capture these events, as well as working with two local race companies, creating video marketing materials and more. My first career path was still photography, and now returning to the camera after a few years, I'm feeling re-energized to create something truly EPIC!

In addition to the video work, I've also been capturing races through my blog, exploring how to best capture the spirit of an event, allowing others a window into my world. Finally, as if that wasn't enough, I coach endurance athletes to help them reach their full potential.
